Wall Street Journal reporter Gregory Zuckerman will discuss his latest book, “The Man Who Solved The Market: How Jim Simons Launched the Quant Revolution,” a biography of hedge fund superstar Simons and how he changed the alternative investment landscape. Zuckerman’s book traces Simons’ journey from a late entrant to the investing universe at age 40, to his founding of Renaissance Technologies in 1982. Having spent a significant amount of time with Simons in the writing of the book, Zuckerman will discuss the ins and outs of Simons’ rise from a math professor to the top of the alternative investment world, as well as many of the other significant lessons he learned from his time with him.
Zuckerman is a special writer at The Wall Street Journal and a three-time winner of business journalism’s highest award, the Gerald Loeb award. Other books he has penned include “The Frackers: The Outrageous Inside Story of the New Billionaire Wildcatters,” “The Greatest Trade Ever: The Behind-the-Scenes Story of How John Paulson Defied Wall Street and Made Financial History” and “Rising Above: How 11 Athletes Overcame Challenges in their Youth to Become Stars,” a book he wrote with his son for young adults.
