Investing in Publicly Traded Internet Companies: Perspectives from Veteran Fund Managers and Analysts

This roundtable will feature several fund managers and research analysts that are Internet sector specialists. The roundtable will start with a 10 minute overview of the Internet sector by a leading sell-side research analyst, followed by a 40 minute panel with 3-4 veteran investors in the category. The panel wrap up with 10 minutes of Q&A from the audience. We will learn about how these investors conduct their research to uncover new ideas. We will also learn about their different investment styles, and how they build their portfolios in very different ways. We will talk about value versus growth in a category that continually experiences tremendous volatility. Finally, we will discuss the impact of the Internet on companies in other areas of the economy.
The panelists for this event are Ari Shrage, founder of Aliya Capital Group, an independent research firm focused on the technology sector; Ashim Mehra, a research analyst with Baron Funds who covers Internet Software & Services, Internet Retail, Media; and Vik Mehta, who manages a growth focused team at J. Goldman & Co, where his primary areas of focus include Internet based investments, including companies in Media, Commerce, Smartphones, Payments and Software. The event will be moderated by Jason Jones, a co-founder of the Cardinal Rose Group (which owns Lend Academy, LendIt and NSR Invest) and a member of the New York Hedge Fund Roundtable’s board of directors.
