Join the New York Alternative Investment Roundtable for a conversation with Daniel Oliver, the founder and managing member of Myrmikan Capital, about the value of investing in gold, which has seen its value skyrocket since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Among the topics that will be touched on in this conversation are Gold as free-market money because of the stability of its value and why it typically outperforms in market downturns; the Fed balance sheet; reserve currency and the end of the dollar.
The event will be moderated by Robert Akeson, Co-Head of Prime Brokerage for Mirae Asset Securities (USA).
Daniel Oliver is the founder of Myrmikan Capital, LLC, which is active in the junior gold and silver nano-cap mining sector. Previously, he worked for Bearing Capital, LLC, a private equity firm in Buenos Aires focused on Latin American commodities investments, and practiced law in the corporate division of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, LLP. In addition, he has co-founded two venture companies and is completing a book on the history of credit bubbles. He is also a director of Vangold Mining Corp., president of the Committee for Monetary Research & Education and speaks frequently on the topics of gold, banking, and credit bubbles. Oliver received his BA from Vanderbilt University, graduated from Columbia Law School and obtained an MBA from INSEAD.
