Diversity in Practice: An Allocator, Manager and Consultant Panel

The need for diversity is well recognized; yet many firms struggle with the implementing diversity initiatives. For smaller managers, deciding where to start can be a challenge of its own. Join the New York Alternative Investment Roundtable for an interactive discussion featuring an allocator, a manager and ESG consultant, and a diversity practitioner. Tracy McHale-Stuart, CEO and Managing Partner, Corbin Capital; Nasrine Ghozali, Chief Risk Officer, Oasis Management, and Imogen Rose-Smith, Co-founder, Combinate Capital, will participate in a panel discussion moderated by Christina Rehnberg, Senior Associate, North Peak Advisory. They will discuss practical steps to move the needle towards increasing diversity.
Nasrine Ghozali is the Chief Risk Officer & Member of the Strategies Group at Oasis Management, a $2.5 billion global investment manager based in Hong Kong. She was previously a Convertible Bonds Strategist and Equity Derivatives Trader for Oasis. Prior to re-joining Oasis, she co-founded Silver Tree, an Asia-focused event driven hedge fund, where she served as Principal Portfolio Manager and Responsible Officer. Before initially joining Oasis, she served as Co-Head of Convertible Bond Arbitrage at Natexis Arbitrage, Group Banques Populaires in Paris. And before that, she was a Convertible Bond Trader with BNP Paribas Arbitrage in Paris. Nasrine is the co-founder the Board Diversity Hong Kong Investors’ Initiative, an investor group which aims to improve gender diversity on boards of Hong Kong-listed companies. She is a member of the Steering Committee of the 30% Club Hong Kong Chapter and of the Investor Group of the 30% Club Japan Chapter.
Imogen Rose-Smith is co-founder of Combinate Capital, a financial services firm focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion. She serves as an advisor to investment managers and asset owners on sustainable investments, business development and communications. And is an affiliate partner of IoTask, a Boston based management consulting company focused on technology and innovation. An award-winning journalist, Imogen has over 15 years’ experience covering institutional asset management as a Senior Writer with Institutional Investor magazine. She was a 2017 – 2019 fellow of the Office of the Chief Investment Officer, University of California Regents, where she worked on ESG and sustainability issues. She served on the inaugural Advisory Board of Girls Who Invest, is a member of the content planning committee for High Water Women’s annual Impact Investment Symposium and is a co-founder of the Maui ESG Investment Project, an initiative to bring sustainable investment capital into Maui and diversify the Hawaii economy. From 2012 to 2014 Imogen worked as a consultant to the Robert F Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights on its Compass conference program.
Tracy McHale Stuart is the Chief Executive Officer and is a Managing Partner of Corbin Capital Partners, an independent alternative asset management firm specializing in multi-strategy and opportunistic credit investing for pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, various other institutional investors, and high net worth clients globally. As of March 1, 2021, Corbin has $8.04 billion in assets under management. She is responsible for the day-to-day management of the firm and is Chair of Corbin’s Investment Committee and a member of the Private Investment Committee, helping to formulate strategic investment policies. Prior to joining Corbin in April 2004, she was Managing Director and Head of the Global Multi-Manager Strategies group at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Before that she worked at BARRA/RogersCasey Strategic Consulting Group, Wilshire Associates and SEI Corporation. She currently chairs Save the Children’s annual Gala and is passionate about the cause.
Christina Rehnberg is Senior Associate at NorthPeak Advisory, a boutique ESG advisory firm working with alternative asset managers. Christina has spent her career at the intersection of finance and sustainability and brings a wealth of experience in Responsible Investment and ESG analysis. She joined NorthPeak Advisory from KKS Advisors. Her work on capital market reactions to corporate announcements of long-term strategic plans has been published in the Journal of Applied Corporate Finance and Harvard Business Review.
